Long before cloud gaming was mainstream, we built GameTap: an ambitious digital hub where players could explore hundreds of games, from arcade legends to PC classics, all in one place. I was responsible for shaping the end-to-end user experience and visual language of the platform, translating a vast game library into something accessible, fun, and intuitive. The design invited users to jump between nostalgia and discovery. Whether they were browsing titles from Capcom and Sega, watching original GameTap TV shows, or starting a free trial with a single click, every element was designed to feel seamless and a bit magical. Characters like Sonic, Pac-Man, and Space Ghost made regular appearances—not just as content, but as part of the UI language that brought the site to life. At a time when “Netflix for games” didn’t exist, GameTap offered it. And my work helped define how that future could look and feel.
